Chelsea reach agreement with Moises Caicedo

Chelsea apparently now have an agreement over personal terms with Moises Caicedo.

That is the latest on the situation from transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who has been keeping fans updated tonight via The Residency app.

Romano says Chelsea have an agreement on their side with Caicedo, but will now talk to Brighton over the fee.

Arsenal have now tabled their new bid for Jurrien Timber, according to the latest reports.

The Gunners had been expected to return with a fresh offer for the Dutch defender having seen an initial £30m proposal rebuffed by Ajax last week.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have made a new £41.5m bid for Timber, a player valued by his current club at around the £50m mark.

They are said to be confident of wrapping up the deal in the coming days, with Timber believed to be close to agreeing terms on a £90,000-per-week contract at the Emirates that could rise to £120,000 per week with bonuses.

Chelsea are set to formalise their interest in Moises Caicedo, reports claim.

The Blues have long since been targeting the versatile Ecuador international, who has been the heartbeat of Brighton’s incredible rise under first Graham Potter then Roberto De Zerbi.

With Arsenal currently focused on beating Manchester City to top summer target Declan Rice, the path to Caicedo could be wide open as things stand, though Manchester United could reportedly move for him if they don’t get Mason Mount, with Liverpool having also been linked.

Manchester United look set to be rivalled by Bayern Munich if they push ahead with a move for Harry Kane, but the German champions have cooled their interest in two of the Red Devils' other targets.

England captain Kane is entering the final year of his Tottenham contract, though Spurs' transfer demands could yet scupper a deal. Kane himself is still understood to be hopeful of making a move to Old Trafford, but Daniel Levy, the chairman of his current club, does not appear to be on the same page.

United have also been linked with Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani as alternatives if a Kane move proves impossible. Bayern have also been mentioned in connection with the pair, but fresh reports indicate United could have a free run at the younger strikers.

Manchester City have lodged an official bid for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, according to the Athletic.

Arsenal have already made several offers for the England international, but City have now entered the race with a bid of £80m plus £10m in add-ons. Arsenal's last offer for Rice, which was rejected by the Hammers, also totalled £90m but included £75m upfront and £15m in add-ons.

USMNT midfielder Brenden Aaronson may be offered a route back to the Premier League following Leeds United's final day relegation from the top flight.

The 22-year-old represented something of a coup for the Yorkshire outfit last summer, with the 32-time international having arrived from Red Bull Salzburg for £24.7million. Leeds United became an enclave for American talent over the course of last year with then coach Jesse Marsch having also brought in compatriots Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie.

However, despite the fanfare that accompanied these signings, they were unable to beat the drop after the dismissal of Marsch in February. Now, Fulham look set to offer Aaronson an escape route out of the EFL Championship following an otherwise disappointing maiden season in England.

Despite Leeds' struggles, it appears that Marco Silva is keen to bring the young American to Craven Cottage, according to the Daily Mail. As per the report, the Portuguese boss sees the the former Philadephia Union star as a perfect reinforcement in the 'number 10' position as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.

Jakub Kiwior says that he's "glad there's going to be more competition" at Arsenal, who are close to completing the signing of fellow defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax.

The Gunners have already agreed personal terms with Timber, 22, over a five-year contract and submitted two bids for the Dutchman, the second being worth £38million. Reports suggest that although Ajax are yet to respond to the follow-up offer, confidence is growing at the Emirates and Kiwior's comments indicate that the Arsenal squad are now expecting Timber's imminent arrival.

Back home in Poland following the recent international fixtures, during which Kiwior scored his first goal for his country in their 1-0 friendly victory over Germany, the Arsenal centre-back was asked about new players joining the Gunners during an interview with Meczyki.

"I'm glad there's going to be more competition," Kiwior replied before asking the reporter: "Who's coming?" After being told who the player in question was, the 23-year-old replied: "It's great that Timber is joining. Let the best players play at Arsenal. Let's win matches and win trophies together."

Having seen their first offer rejected by Ajax, Arsenal have made a new £41.5m bid for Jurrien Timber according to the Daily Mail.

Southampton are said to value the 20-year-old at around £30m, but Newcastle are hoping to sign him for around half that.

United's last bid was £55m, but Chelsea are said to be holding out for £65m. As a result, the report states that the Blues now have to make a decision over whether to lower their valuation or let him return for pre-season given he will be out of contract next summer.
